I work with numerous young men who work in construction who manifest excessive and hazardous drinking. After a hard day at work, it seems so “right” to go to the local saloon to have a few beers with one’s friends. Often, however, it seems that the well-intentioned few brews becomes a situation in which several beers are ingested, much money is spent, and several hours are spent at the local bar rather than spending time with their family, wife or girlfriend, or with their friends.

Careless and Excessive Drinking Can Result in Marital, Relationship, and Friendship Difficulties

Is it all that astounding in these situations that quite a few my hard working friends experience alcohol related financial problems in spite of the fact that they make quite a lot of money? How hard can it be for these hard working men to grasp the fact that excessive and irresponsible drinking usually leads to friendship, relationship, and marital problems? Why are these alcoholism and alcohol abuse signs so difficult for these hard working guys to see?

Excessive and Abusive Drinking Can Lead to DUIs, Problems at Work, Numerous Health Problems, and a Variety of Mental Health Issues Like Depression

Should it truly be astounding to anyone that these construction workers could receive a DUI virtually any day or night of the week? Is anyone actually amazed when my hard working friends begin to show up late for work because of their hazardous drinking?

Does it truly amaze anyone to know that these construction workers eventually complain about alcohol-related health problems such as hangovers, alcohol poisoning, a loss of energy, and sleep disturbances? Is it in point of fact astonishing that many of these hard working men are beginning to have different mental health issues like depression? Why can’t these hard working guys “see” these alcohol abuse effects?

In a way, these construction workers have gotten into a dysfunctional situation that is leading them to a life of alcohol addiction or alcohol abuse. My desire is that my hard working pals will eventually understand that hazardous and abusive drinking isn’t their “friend” and that they need to talk to their physician or somebody at the local drug and alcohol treatment clinic about their drinking circumstances.

Regarding the drinking problems displayed by my hard working pals, the point to emphasize is that honesty is needed. Indeed, my hard working buddies, not that much different than others who involve themselves irresponsible and abusive drinking, need to look at themselves in the mirror and make an honest evaluation of what hazardous and heavy drinking is doing to their health, to their jobs, to their relationships, to their mental health, and to their finances. In a word, these hard working guys need to realize the alcohol side effects of their heavy and hazardous drinking.

There’s Room For Optimism If Those Who Engage in Abusive and Excessive Drinking Can Become Encouraged to Get the Alcohol Treatment and Alcohol Detox They Require

My hard working pals need to get enthused and motivated about wanting to make a beneficial change in their lives. Stated more forcefully, these hard working guys need to get motivated to go to their family doctor or to the local drug and alcohol rehab facility and find out if they are essentially abusing alcohol or if they are dependent on alcohol. Based on their findings, these hard working men then need to get the alcohol rehabilitation and the alcohol detox treatment they require.

The great news is that there are is an almost countless number of hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, drug and alcohol treatment clinics, rehab programs, and treatment centers where these hard working guys can get top-shelf rehabilitation for their heavy and hazardous drinking. And with a little effort, it is feasible to find rehab programs, rehabilitation facilities, drug and alcohol treatment clinics, hospitals, and treatment centers that are fairly inexpensive.

Top-of-The-Line Alcohol Addiction or Alcohol Abuse Help Can Start With a Phone Call

There were evidently times in the past when top-of-the-line help for alcohol abuse or alcohol dependency was far less available and more expensive that it is now. Due to the proliferation of alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction in the past ten or fifteen years, then again, an alcohol abuser or alcohol addicted individual commonly has few, if any, rational reasons for failing to come to terms with his or her hazardous drinking.

In actual fact, to begin the change process all it routinely takes is a phone call to one’s physician or to somebody at the local alcohol counseling clinic. From that point forward, alcohol recovery necessitates follow through, commitment, and a truthful desire to change one’s detrimental style of life.
