In society today and the business world, the more you use your mind, the better your success will be. When you have outstanding mind and brain skills and IQ confidence usually follows. Employers hire and promote often the person who masters these characteristics better then a very competitive workforce today.

A great way to keep your brain in shape is mind puzzles and brainteasers. These fun mind games are found everywhere. They are in magazines and store check out counters, they are even in newspapers across the country. They not only give you a break from a stressful day, they actually stimulate your mind.

Playing a mind game such as a cryptogram, you are increasing your reasoning skills. When you figure out which letter should be replaced with another, you are strengthening a skill that you need in everyday life.

Another skill that is developed by playing mind puzzles is your powers of deduction. When you play a puzzle that is filled with bizarre twists, using the process of elimination will no doubt assist you in solving the puzzle.

When you use mind puzzles and brainteasers, you also increasing your ability to use powers of logic to solve an otherwise impossible puzzle. These games may seem like a pleasant diversion in an otherwise chaotic life, but in reality, they actually keep your mind stimulated into drawing a legitimate conclusion.

You can gain mental stability when you play mind puzzles for a certain amount of time each day. When you use different types of games, it is assured that you will acquire the correct mental skills.

Using mind puzzles such as crossword puzzles can increase your vocabulary over and over again. With a crossword puzzle, you are not only learning a new word, you are learning the definition and how to use it in a sentence.

Once you are experienced at playing mind puzzles and brainteasers, you can step it up a bit to make it more exciting. If you start timing your games, you can add a whole new level of excitement and test your limits even further.

When you play mind puzzles, you are increasing your ability to think fast. When you complete a mind puzzle a day, you will notice you have gained a sense of security and you will also see the difference in your problem solving skills in a relatively short amount of time.

Mind puzzles provide you with the tools to improve your skills in specific areas. Problem solving is the number one skill that many people do not use to its fullest potential. When you have honed your skills, many of the problems that seem insurmountable in the past will be a breeze to solve.

Improving Your Mind Brain Health When You Get Physically Fit

We all know that we could use some more exercise. As a society, we are entirely too sedentary, spending a lot of time watching TV, playing video games and surfing the web - and far too little engaged in physical activity. This kind of lifestyle leads to obesity and low energy levels. We all are aware of this - but what you may not know is that low levels of physical activity means reduced cognitive abilities as well! As you get older, the difference becomes more and more apparent.

When you're physically active, your circulation is improved and with it, cognitive function. When you exerciseregularly, you develop your entire circulatory system, including cerebral vessels. This is believed to be a large part of why exercise is beneficial to your brain.

One of the very best forms of exercise for improving your cognitive abilities is yoga. Yoga requires concentration as well as physical activity. It can be challenging at first, but don't get discouraged. You'll become better with practice and you will be able to move on to more advanced schools of yoga to get even greater cognitive benefits.

It may be news to you that about 20% of your energy is used by your brain - and just like any other part of you, it gets stronger with exercise. If you have trouble coping with stress and your responsibilities day to day, then you need to get more exercise; this will keep your body and mind in peak condition.

A lot of us have the best intentions when it comes to exercise, but we tend to put it off in favor of one thing after another until the day is done and we have no time left. We do this to ourselves; but once you do start getting regular exercise and start to feel the mental benefits, you'll make exercise one of your top priorities.

Rather than helping you to come up with reasons to dodge exercise, you'll start to find reasons to get more exercise. The results you'll see will keep you motivated and make you proud of what you've achieved. Sooner than you may think, getting regular exercise becomes a habit and you'll put off the less important things in life instead. Your brain will release more of the chemicals which produce a sense of well bring so you'll feel better on every level.

Regardless of your age or what level of physical activity you get now, you can still make some positive changes. Begin by exercising 15 minutes every second day and increase this by 5 minutes a week until you're at 30 minutes of exercise every other day. Once you've done this, promise yourself you'll make those 30 minutes a daily routine. Working up this makes it less of a challenge and makes you less likely to get discouraged.

We all have busy lives, but anyone can make 30 minutes a day to get some exercise. Try in the early morning so you won't make excuses about being too tired to exercise at night. You'll start the day off feeling great - you'll have already made some progress and done something good for yourself. There are plenty of different exercises out there, so you can do something which you like doing.

Travel for Building Thinking Skills

Building thinking skills and improve your thinking process is easily accomplished when challenging your brain through traveling. If you want to improve your mind building thinking skills, expose it to new things. There are a lot of ways you can do this. Do you enjoy having new adventures and traveling? In fact, research has shown that traveling is a great way to train you to building thinking skills. If you travel often for business, you definitely have an advantage over most people, and if you 

 like to go on vacation every now and then, try to go someplace new every time. This is going to "stretch your horizons" and improve your mind the most.

When you travel someplace new, everything is unfamiliar. What does that mean? You have to think. Think about that for a second; in your ordinary life, you usually travel the same routes to work, shop at the same grocery store, and do the same things day-to-day, day after day. As you continue, you become used to this so that your brain has to do relatively little thinking in order to accomplish these things. Let's take an example; have you ever driven to work without really knowing how you got there? That's because after a certain point in time, you can really do these things without thinking because they're familiar.

If you go on vacation to a new location, though, you're going to have to find where things are that you haven't seen before. Using a map to find out where you need to go is a good idea. You can also stimulate your brain to help you choose the best route based upon the maps information. If you're going to be in a country where you're going to be traveling on the other side of the road, this is definitely going to be something new for your brain, too.

When you travel someplace new, you're going to be taking in and processing a lot of information. You're going to see new things every day, whereas with your normal life, you see things every day that you are used to seeing, so you may not even notice them. Let's say, for example, that you live someplace where you have a beautiful mountain range within your line of sight. Chances are, although that caused you to gasp in amazement at first -- and even if you love it very much -- now you rarely even notice it, except when you remind yourself to do so. That means you "forget" about the amazing things in front of you until you hear someone else commenting on them.

Travel will open up new vistas to you that in fact are going to be "so-so" to the people who live there locally. Nonetheless, if you do this type of "new travel" on a regular basis, you're building thinking skills and keeping your thinking process sharp. And in fact, that may be why people come back from a vacation with a new attitude and perspective, rejuvenated and refreshed, so that they can go back to their "normal" lives previously left behind.

Where you travel might matter, too, because you can offer your mind a challenge that it needs to solve. Let's say, for example, that you want to find the lowest prices on airfare or you want to get discount prices for theme parks nearby. When you budget for a vacation, you can also sharpen your thinking because having to budget and crunch the numbers is something that requires mind power -- and of course, you're going to have to make sure you can afford it.

As you continue to travel more and more, your mind, too, will benefit from this travel. Let your mind explore things from an entirely new perspective. If you can, travel with a friend or family member, which can help you feel more at ease if you're out of your natural element and uncomfortable doing so. It's also helpful to have someone else interpreting maps or other tools along with you.

If you can't have a vacation right now, you can still take notice of things in your area that you might not have previously noticed and try to imagine them from a new perspective. Even if you try to find a new route to work or just take a drive to "nowhere" for the weekend, you expand your thinking. It'll also give you refreshment, so that you can face your workday and workweek from a new perspective.

Brain Food - Keep Your Brain Happy And Healthy

Brain Food is any food that is actually considered to be an aid in a person's intelligence. Therefore, brain food is food that affects your intelligence, creativity, memory, or any other intellectual part of your life. Eating a diet with the right brain foods might seem like too much work, but in reality, it is something that is easy to do. You want to be sure that as an adult you are eating great brain food, and also that your children are exposed to a diet that provides them with the strong brains they need to grow and thrive. 

It might not be something that you are aware of, but the food that you eat actually does affect the performance of your brain. It is has been proven that if you are able to eat the right foods, you will be able to boost your IQ and also do things like improve your mood, be more emotionally stable, and sharpen your memory, along with keeping your mind young and healthy. Therefore, eating correct foods is one natural way that you can make sure your brain is healthy, which will lead to a much healthier life for you, overall. 

If you can give those correct nutrients to your brain, you will find out that you can think quicker, and can also have a better memory. Not only that, but you'll be able to be better coordinated and have better balance, as well as being able to concentrate better. All of these factors are extremely important for you, so be sure that you are following through and eating healthily. 

There are several key brain foods that you can eat which will do all of these things, and boost your brainpower so that you can be healthy and happy. However, before you begin to think about the foods that you have to eat for a healthy brain, you should think about the factors that influence a healthy brain. Keeping these factors in mind is the best way to make sure you are doing as much as you can to have a healthy mind. In order to have a healthy brain, there are three main ingredients. You need to drink lots of water, get lots of air, and eat the right foods.

1. Water

Water is the first part of a healthy brain, and of healthy brain foods. You need to be able to have the right allowance of water in your blood in order to have a healthy brain. Your brain must be fully hydrated so that it can provide you with the right thinking skills. The circuitry in your brain relies on being well hydrated so that it can perform its functions well. Be sure that you are drinking plenty of water. You will know if you are dehydrated because you won't sweat as much, you might get a headache, and you will feel tired. Your brain feels tired as well, and isn't able to perform its functions fully when it isn't hydrated. So, keep yourself, and your brain, in plenty of water. 

2. Air

Air is another thing that your brain needs to survive. Obviously, you need air in order to stay alive, but your brain needs more air than just enough to keep it living, in order to be healthy. You might not think that you knew this, but there has always been a simple clue. After you eat a big meal, the air in your body is all being concentrated to your stomach to help digest the food, and this is why you end up feeing sleepy at this time. The more air that you can get into your brain, the more alert and awake you are going to be in your life. Brain Fitness Neurobics Keep Your Brain Challenged, Healthy And Young

What are "neurobics"? Actually, this is a term you may not be familiar with, but it's similar to aerobics. Aerobics are exercises your body takes part in, and they keep you healthy and fit. By the same token, neurobics are exercises that your brain needs to stay fit, too. And if you do this day after day, you're going to create some fun and some, well, disorganization in your world.

Neurobics are fascinating because you can use all of your senses to exercise your brain. It also allows you to explore your emotions and to see how everything works together. When you do this type of activity, your brain gets stronger. And in fact, you'll actually grow new brain cells, which is important for overall mental health.

Some fun examples of neurobics include getting dressed, eating, or doing other familiar activities with your eyes closed. When you do this, you rely on other senses besides the ones you normally use to get these things done. Or, engage in a conversation where you can't actually talk. Instead, you have to use body language to express yourself.

Another thing you can do with neurobics is to explore two things at once. This isn't really the multitasking we're more familiar with, and instead is something that you do to enhance creativity. For example, you can draw and listen to music on the radio at the same time.

You have a lot of routine things you do that you probably don't even notice. In fact, these habits are simply a part of our brain patterns, and we do them without even thinking about them. With this type of neurobics, you're going to change your normal routines so that you exercise your brain. For example, if you normally clean your kitchen first, do it last the next time you clean. The next time you start your day, do it differently than you "always" start it. In other words, shake things up, and do things little bit differently.

Another example is that you can use your non-dominant hand for an entire day to do activities you'd normally use your dominant hand for. It's going to be very hard, and it's going to take a lot of concentration on your part. However, you'll probably discover that you're going to get better as the day goes on. It will change the way your brain has to think when it comes to accomplishing a task that has become so mindless for you.

There are lots of different ways to experiment with neurobics. Have fun and try different things, and do everything you can to learn from it. With most of these tasks, you can do them at home, you can do them at work or when you travel. What's important about this is that you identify those things you always do a certain way. When you do this, make a conscious decision to do it differently. You can also keep notes (which can be fun) to document what you've discovered as well as what comes out of your neurobic activities.

It can be very fun to take part in neurobics, because they will develop your mind. In fact, neurobic activities can help you discover what you -- and your brain -- can accomplish every day. And, it helps you see that your brain in fact controls a lot of what you do. All too often, we may just go along with it and not question it, but this needs to be something we put behind us. Explore neurobics, though, and you'll see that you have the ability to change things around you and always keep learning fresh and new -- and keep your brain challenged -- a new and exciting ways.

The practice of entrainment relies on our brain's ability to adapt to the preferred frequencies simply by listening to the corrected patterns in certain deep states of mind.

Meditation is a natural method that has been scientifically proven in some cases to effect the brain physically. First, meditation allows better breathing and with it the benefits of oxygen and improved blood flow as previously written here. Meditation can be learned from a beginner book from your library, articles on the web written by authorities in this field, and of course specialized training which can become quite expensive.

The benefits of meditation are worth it to many, as it is known to create a sense of heightened awareness, better focus, increased learning ability, improved recall and long term memory. Being quiet and listening in the learned relaxed state can provide your brain with better performance as actually processing information becomes more efficient as proven with the latest brain technology monitoring.

Simple self hypnosis has shown improvement to a limited extent in accelerated learning, absorbing information faster with eye movement and still increasing comprehension. Some hypnosis in repeated sessions will increase the processing of information and subsequently recall. This is an area that has definitely shown proven results in brain improvement, however the reliability has not been flawless as some people will not exhibit significant changes.

The scientific community has also discovered that our brains have a hidden potential for improvement, creative thinking and optimal usage. Minimizing the detrimental effects that effect brain optimization is another field of study by many and a topic with too numerous fail modes to include all here in detail.

Besides the physical limitations by lack of oxygen, water, exercise, incorrect nutrients, there exists new causes of brain degradation all of which are not clearly defined. Poor effects are known already from harmful stress, negative thoughts, distractions, excessive noise, alcohol, chemicals and more.

There is new hope as well as great strides are being made in researching radiant thinking, mind mapping, linear thinking, creative visualization and effects, imagery, positive thoughts, positive surroundings and effects of affirmations...

Remember, your brain cells crave stimulation. Use your brain throughout life. If your work doesn't challenge you, go out and play brain games even, write, keep a daily journal.

Some of the great minds in history as Thomas Edison, Isaac Newton, Thomas Faraday, Einstein, even Steven Hawking (electronically) were compulsive journal or diary maintainers and many people in a wide variety of professional disciplines have proven the IQ building effects of daily journal success, themselves being super high achievers.

At whatever intelligence level you are at now, you can improve your brain functioning and maintain optimal performance as you age.
